Mental well-being

Mental illness is unfortunately not considered any sort of illness in the society, which is supposedly modern and up-to-date. Mental illness affects teenagers more than adults and children. But the bitter reality is people silently suffer; mostly because they, themselves are not aware of it or they are embarrassed to disclose it in the fear of contempt. That is why it has become a social stigma.

If you look around you may not find people struggling with their mental health or say may not be able to identify them, but they may be in your family, neighbourhood, your child’s school teacher, your colleague or your close friend.

However, only a small number of those who are affected get treatment, often because of the disgrace they may have to face or lack of resources. Mental health awareness is imperative, it is as important as realizing that you need antiallergy during fall otherwise you will catch a severe cold. It is the illness of the brain since the brain controls the whole body, this issue should be promptly addressed.

An individual suffering from mental illness may face disturbances in thinking, behaviour, energy or emotion, eventually making it difficult for them to cope with the day to day routine. Several pieces of research have revealed the causes of complex mental health. The reason can be genetic, brain structure, experiencing trauma or any medical reason. Most commons ones are anxiety disorder and mood disorders. The former includes post-traumatic stress disorder PTSD, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic attacks, general anxiety disorder and some specific phobias. The latter includes, depression, bipolar depression, etc. this is common among adults, they face a lot of regulating their mood.

If mental illness is not treated it can contribute to many issues, such as medical expenses, hampering performance at workplace or school and college, unhealthy and complicated relationships, etc. Our organisation, Kazim Trust, has been working tirelessly for the minds which needs help.
